Located in the thriving new tech district of Dublin, 10-12 Hanover Quay in Grand Canal Dock has been developed into state of the art offices. Before construction on the new development could begin, a range of demolition and intricate engineering works were carried out by Hegarty Demolition.

  • Full strip out and asbestos removal works.
  • Demolition of the roof and internal walls.
  • Phase One temporary works to support the listed perimeter walls and apexes so the floor trusses could be removed allowing for the foundation piling to proceed.
  • Demolition of the internal ground floor slab and basement slab was the next stage of works with the crushed material being retained on site to be used for the piling mat.
  • Phase Two of the temporary works package included the installation of pile-based plunge columns and truss frames to replace ground bearing temporary works installed in Phase One. These works were carried out to allow for the bulk dig of the new basement.
  • The bulk dig of this project involved the removal of contaminated soil from the site which was transported to licenced facilities.
  • In tandem with the bulk dig, we installed extensive needling to enable underpinning of the perimeter walls.
  • Ahead of the construction works, we prepared the formation and blinding with lean-mix, broke down and trimmed pile heads, installed cofferdam sheet-piles for a new single story below basement attenuation tank. Ground anchors were installed to the external secant piled extensions and the installation of primary site services and drainage completed our works.
